2020 begins with an intimate recital of songs for voice and lute. Soprano Julia Doyle specialises in Baroque repertoire and has put together an attractive programme of music by Purcell, Monteverdi, Strozzi, Caccini and Merula with the famous English lutenistMatthew Wadsworth. This concert is the first of a series of five in different venues while Leighton House is undergoing refurbishment works and takes place in the unique, extraordinary setting of the historic music room at Killik and Co.’s Mayfair office.

‘Julia Doyle was a pure-toned, innocent Golden Age, singing with lightness and fleetness and exercising consistent vocal control and an impressive precision in the higher registers.’ Opera Today

With particular thanks to Killik and Co. for hosting this recital at their Mayfair office.
