Born in Alsace in 1981, Patrick Hemmerlé is a French pianist who studied at the Conservatoire in Paris, where he won first prize in 2002. For the past eight years he has lived in Cambridge and is Musician in Residence at Clare Hall, where he is a Fellow Commoner of the College. Patrick has won awards in Grossetto (Italy) Toledo and Valencia (Spain) Epinal in France as well as the CFRPM in Paris. He has performed extensively in the USA, Europe and China and was part of the team of international musicians who charmed the audience at the inauguration of the Festival International de Musique Classique d’Aigues-Mortes (FIMCAM) last June.

Patrick’s first love is the music of the great Austro-German composers: Bach, Beethoven & Schubert. French music of the turn of the 20th century is also a passion and his series of concerts “Unveiling the hidden Masters” is devoted to the work of nine composers living and working in France between 1880 and 1920.
