Born in Slovenia in 2002, Zala Kravos was initiated into music from the age of three in Brussels and started piano lessons at the age of five in Luxembourg. The following year she entered the Conservatory of the City of Luxembourg and later studied with Maria João Pires and Louis Lortie; she now studies at the Royal College of Music. Between 2009 and 2014 she won national and international competitions in Luxembourg and France and in 2016 in the USA, where she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. She also performs with orchestras and enjoys playing chamber music, including in a piano duet with her younger brother Val. She recorded her first solo album in 2017 at the age of 14: critics across Europe were unanimous in their praise. In June 2021, she recorded a second album of piano duets with her brother Val, equally well received by critics. Their programme for KCMS is a voyage through the finest of all piano music.

‘A performing career that is already international enough to make her talk as if she’s an old hand.’ International Piano Magazine
