Winner of the Gold Medal at 74th Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition, Sofía Patterson-Gutiérrez won the BBC Young Musician Woodwind Final in 2022. Since then she has been awarded 2nd prize and Junior Jury prize in the 2026 Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, won the Altus William Bennett Flute Prize and Yamaha Music Scholarship Award, and regularly performs as guest principal with orchestras across the UK, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé and BBC Symphony Orchestra.  Sofía currently studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Michael Cox, where she holds a full scholarship kindly supported by the Calleja Foundation Award. Her programme for KCMS brings together some of the finest music for flute and piano from America, France and Germany, concluding with an arrangement of the monumental Violin Sonata by César Franck.
